B i o g r a p h y
Since starting drum lessons at age 12, Sarah has toured extensively internationally, undertaken intensive study tours and music workshops in South Korea, New York and Canada, recorded and performed with many acclaimed artists and bands and composed for cross interdiscilpnary collaborations.

Sarah engages with a wide variety of bands and artists which makes her quite a unique percussionist in the international music scene. She has delved into traditional Korean percussion instruments and North Indian music traditions to further enrich her musical syntax.
Sarah is also a scholarship student who graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2010 and with honours in 2013 majoring in Jazz (Drums and Tabla).
Sarah was born in Melbourne, Australia, and is currently based in NYC. She is endorsed by Sunhouse.

Touring internationally in Australia, Japan, Europe, the US and Canada with various groups including grammy award winning artist Anna Wise, prolific art-pop group TEEN, Overcoats, Denitia, Blackchords, The Tiger & Me, Goodbye Enemy Airship, Bat Country, Lou Tides, HNRY FLWR, Tongues Unknown, The Undercover Dream Lovers, Miles Francis, Lizzie Loveless and many more.

Performing in festivals around the world including SXSW, Canada Music Festival, Melbourne International Jazz Festival, AOC Festival, Falls Festival, Port Fairy Folk Festival,Blue Mountains Festival, Mullum Music Festival and numerous others.

Supported prolific artist Elvis Costello and the Imposters with iconic Australian artist Pinky Beecroft at Tasmania’s world classed museum and art gallery, MONA (Museum of Old and New Art).

Attended the Banff International Workshop in Jazz and Creative Music in 2013, Canada.

Studied traditional South Korean percussion with master Hanh and Kim Dong Won in Daejon City and in New York City with world renowned drummers Ari Hoenig, John Riley, Adam Nussbaum, Grogory Hutchinson and Michael Carvin.

Co-hosting exhibitions 'Drawing Translations' (2012) and 'Parallel Drift' (2013) with acclaimed visual artist Sarah McConnell at Donkey Wheel House (Melbourne) and Seventh Gallery (Fitzroy).

Have performed with Heidelberg Symphony Orchestra and recorded with Moreland City Brass Band for ABC radio as part of the City Brass Band Competition.

Recording and performing with some of Australia’s most highly regarded jazz musicians including Shannon Barnett, Tamara Murphy, Fran Swinn and Leigh Barker.
